Seeking Outstanding Candidates for 2026

We had a great year in 2024, not so great in 2025 but we want to build on our success that started in 2024 this year in Mercer County.  Your support is appreciated.

Locally in Mercer County, there are two Mercer County Commissioners seats open as well as the Mercer County Sheriff and Mercer County Surrogate. 

There are also elections in 2026 for the US Congressional candidates (US Senate, CD 12 and CD3) that will represent areas in Mercer County.

On behalf of Pat Johnson, the Mercer County Republican Chair, all qualified individuals who want to help Mercer County and be part of our government and run for office, please e-mail your intentions on which office you are interested in, why you want to run and a resume to wcody@alum.mit.edu.

If you are interested, please send your information by February 6, 2026.

• We will invite interested Mercer County candidates to the screening meeting to review the office, explain the role and gauge interest.  
• Candidates for the US Congressional seats (US Senate, CD 12 and CD3) will be invited to the convention.
• At the County convention, Mercer County Republican committee members will vote on the candidates of choice.
• Final Republican endorsed candidates will be voted upon on the June 2 primary.

Please Note - There are two upcoming sessions that potential candidates should plan to attend:

• February 19, 2026 – Mercer County Candidate Screening meeting
• March 3, 2026 - evening – Mercer County Republican Convention
